- How do I add a new font to my computer that I have had emailed or that I have downloaded.
1. Save the fonts to your C Drive, or to a memory stick.
2. Open Fonts in Control Panel (click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Fonts).
3. On the File menu, click Install New Font.
4. In ‘Drives’, click the drive you want. (Where you saved the font on your ‘C’ drive or memory stick)
5. In ‘Folders’, double-click the folder that contains the fonts you want to add. To select more than one font to add, hold down the CTRL key, and then click each of the fonts you want to add.
6. In ‘List of Fonts’, click the font you want to add, then click OK.
To add all of the listed fonts, click Select All, and then click OK.
You can also drag Open Type, TrueType, Type 1, and raster fonts from another location to add them to the Fonts folder. This works only if the font is not already in the Fonts folder.
To add fonts from a network drive without using disk space on your computer, make sure that the Copy fonts to Fonts folder check box, in the Add Fonts dialog box, is clear. This is available only when you install Open Type, TrueType, or raster fonts using the Install New Font option on the File menu.
- Can I claim VAT back on my purchases?
You can claim vat if you are vat registered, you will have to be VAT registered once your turnover exceeds £85,000. You can’t claim VAT back if you are not VAT registered. We recommend that you become VAT registered immediately as Look Local head office is VAT registered and all our charges will include VAT which you can claim back each quarter. You accountant can confirm VAT registration with you. - Is VAT added to the printing of the Look Locals?
The Look Locals are zero rated for vat, this means that no vat is payable. - How to register for VAT
To register for VAT you will need to fill in one or more forms and submit them to HMRC for approval, Look Local can help you find an accountant, we have accountants that work for us who are familiar with the Look local business. - Do I need to order invoices?
Most of your invoices will be sent electronically via the CRM, you may need some paper invoices for customers who haven’t got an email address you can print invoices from the CRM system so there is no need to order invoices to print on. - Do I need letterheads?
When you send a letter to a potential customer or a customer it always looks more professional if this is done on a letterhead. Look Local head office have templates for our letterheads and these are to be order direct from head office. - How long will it take the printers to print my look locals?
The printer will take 9 days to print the look local and deliver them to you from the upload deadline date. Please see the print section from the right hand menu to see the monthly deadline dates - Can I order more than 4,000 Look Locals from the printer?
Yes, if you would like extra Look Locals to send to prospective customers or existing customers you can order extra copies at the same time as you place your monthly order, you will find the current printing charges on our website. - Is Look Local printed on environmental friendly paper?
Yes, Look Local is printed on paper that is taken from the trees of sustainable wood forests. - How much will the courier cost? Delivery from the printer to your address is included in the print price.
- Can I alter the Look Local Logo?
No, this is a registered trade mark and should not be altered in any way. - I have had a complaint about an advertisers work standards, what should I do?
Reassure the reader that you take this very seriously and that you will look into it. Call the advertiser in question and tell them that you have had a complaint, listen to their version of events and suggest that it may be an idea to try to resolve the situation with the advertiser. If you get repeated complaints about the same advertiser you are advised to exclude them from advertising. - An advertiser wants to have the front page every month, should I commit to giving them this?
No, if the same advertiser is on the front every month you run the risk of the Look Local becoming stale. Offer them a 12 month contract with 1 premium pages within that 12 month period. Premium pages being the front, page 3, middle and back pages. You may be able to offer two premium pages per annum depending on the amount of 12 month customers you have. - Can I take credit card payments?
Your customers can pay by credit card, you will need to login to the CRM to take payment by card - How many Look Locals should each delivery person be given to deliver?
We recommend no more than 400 to each teenager. Adults will generally have more time to deliver them so you can give them as many as they think they can manage to deliver in the specified time. - How long will it take each deliverer to deliver the Look Local each month?
On average 175 books can be delivered in one hour. - How much does it cost to send a Look Local in the post?
This depends on the weight. Rates of postage can be obtained from the post office, be sure to put the correct postage on each item of post.
